Magazine 2 Blog Post (For School)

I remember when I was a younger, early teenage probably, I got my mother to buy me these tween magazines that used to (and may still be) on racks by the checkout at Safeway. I wasn’t really interested in them is my memory, but my friends at school were and I think my brother might have been.

That was the closest I’ve ever gotten to being interested in magazines.

Studying the process of making a magazine over the last year has left me conflicted in many ways, some even related to the study itself. On and off all year I’ve had this strong desire to actually go through with the magazine that I’ve been making for the classes.

I have the desire some of the time I’m actually working on the magazine itself, writing the content and the rewriting the content then doing the design. When I’m not working on it, and even some of the time I am, I have found that desire totally absent.

The thing about the class is that I’m not interested in magazines but the way it was set up made me think I could be for nearly eight continuous months. In particular I think it is Robyn who makes the idea appealing.

In my time as a student I have been bored out of my mind in a great many classes on subjects I’m passionate about. It is a testament to my teacher that I was interested in magazines for basically a whole year.
